Dan Gillerman, Chairman, Markstone Israel
Prior to joining Markstone, Ambassador Dan Gillerman served in both public sector and private sector leadership positions. As Israel’s 13th Permanent Representative to the United Nations during 2003-08, Ambassador Gillerman was instrumental in passing numerous resolutions in the General Assembly and Security Council, including the first successful Israeli resolutions ever adopted by the U.N. Ambassador Gillerman served as Vice-President of the General Assembly in 2005, the first Israeli in this position since Abba Eban in 1952. During his tenure, he forged close relationships with many world leaders and diplomats, including from Arab and Muslim countries that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel. Before serving at the U.N., Ambassador Gillerman served as CEO of several Israeli companies in the chemical, food ingredient, agricultural, and technology sectors. He was Chairman of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, and served on the board of major commercial banks and the Central Bank of Israel. Ambassador Gillerman is Chairman of Gillerman Global, Chairman of the International Forum of INSS (the Institute for National Strategic Studies), Chairman of the Public Council of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and member of Board of the Aspen Institute in Italy. He was previously also a member of the Prime Minister's National Economic and Social Council, Chairman of the Israel-British Business Council, and a member of the Executive Board of the International Chamber of Commerce, the World Business Organization. |
